Project Profile
Roger Williams University North Campus Residence Hall
New Dormitory

Roger Williams University sought to create a new on-campus living experience for its students, as well as an iconic contemporary building for its waterfront campus with this innovatively designed new residence hall.

To realize this vision within the project budget, Odeh Engineers introduced the “Girderslab™” system, a hybrid structure consisting of precast concrete hollow core planks supported by T-shaped beams embedded in the plane of the floor planks. This structural system allowed for a very thin structural floor plate.

The design team used a fully integrated Building Information Model throughout the design process, resulting in a highly coordinated set of construction documents.
